Yes, this is completely normal for Moo! tasks. Depending on the amount of blocks in the WU, it might also jump to different % values.

When they're not powerful enough, you don't need a bigger compatible one, you just need more on the 12V line. Just get any old PSU and use it in addition.
Works only with PSUs, that don't require significant load on 5V to keep the 12V line at the right voltage. Some won't even turn on without something @5V.

By the way metal shelving is a bad idea, you're asking for shorts. I use wood.
I understand why you are worried about shorts, but in general, as computer cases are made of metal, there's nothing wrong about putting them on metal shelves. Server racks aren't made of wood either and nobody worries about shorts there eiter.

My HP and Dell pc's are model Z600 and T5500
Probably you even can't use anything else than the original PSUs, the HP mainboard seems to have non-standard 18-pin connector according to the pictures I see on Google and Dell is known to use own wiring on standard ATX connectors, so you'll burn the mainboard and/or the PSU if you use anyhing else then the original PSU.

I'd never buy a desktop computer not build out of standard parts, when anything fails, it's just scrap as replacement parts are usually very expensive for such systems or not available at all once they run out of support. Well, I'd never buy a prebuild destop computer, but that's another thing.

No, as you can see on the application version it was the Nvidia OpenCL app running on the Intel GPU for some reason.

The wrapper has choosen the Nvidia GPU:
19:52:03 (13936): wrapper v1.5 build 20 for nVidia OpenCL starting (BOINC Wrapper v7.13.26016)
19:52:03 (13936): device: OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: NVIDIA GeForce MX350 (driver version 526.47, device version OpenCL 3.0 CUDA, 2048MB, 2048MB available, 1879 GFLOPS peak)

No idea why the dnect client than run on the Intel GPU:
[Jul 16 17:52:16 UTC] Automatic processor type detection did not
recognize the processor (tag: "Intel(R) UHD Graphics ")

Well, not a huge surprise that it worked as the OpenCL client is same for both ATI and Nvidia, so in theory it should also run on Intel (that's actually the entire idea behind OpenCL, one app for all). This "mistake" helps others who want to use their Intel GPUs here, now we know that it should work with annonmous platform as long as Moo! does not release it officially for Intel.

Yeah, just read about this new feature, might be useful for those who want some (but not all) idle cores when using the computer, but it's confusing if you don't know about it.

I wasn’t aware you needed all accounts to have the same email. I haven’t for a long time and had no issue with it not running.
Now that I know about it, it's probably the new feature of BOINC, which offers different computing settings for "in use" and "not in use". Still better to have everything linked together.

Well, I'll stick to version 7.12.1, it does what it's supposed to do.

It seems your Milkyway, LHC and Moo! accounts are not linked together. This is your Moo! account, this is probably your SETI account and at Milkyway and LHC you must be using a different name as I can't find any GeeTee10 more.

This is also the reason, why it's printing two different values for allowed max memory usage and might be the reason for all this mess with tasks not running if the changes I made won't help. Than you need to link the accounts together (use the same email adress but don't change your Distributed.net ID in Moo! project preferences) and once they syncronize, eventually update your preferences on one of the projects.

I'm trying this right now in combination with Distributed.net nVidia CUDA Client Core #10 (CUDA 1-pipe 64-thd sleep 100us), which uses very little CPU but also just only ~70% GPU, to get one more CPU core for WCG, the standard "core" needed one whole CPU core.

I use Artic MX-4. Might be fake.
MX-4 is grey, not blue. Or do you mean the tube?

What temperatures do you have?
I have around 50°C tCase (set as target in BIOS) resulting in 56-62°C core temp on my Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 with a TDP of 65W using some cheap white noname thermal grease I bought over 20 years ago and Intel's stock cooler running at around 50-60% (in summer maybe up to 75%) of it's max speed, crunching @100%.

So considering your cooling setup and that your AMD Ryzen 5 5600G has also a TDP of 65W and even soldered IHS, I'm not impressed by the cooling results at first glance, OTOH a quick google search reveals, that full load core temperatures of around 75°C are not uncommon for this CPU (it's boosting way above it's TDP of 65W). Do you have some air cooler suitable for this CPU? I still think the current cooler might not be pressed properly to the CPU, either simply by not enough preassure or what's worse, by the motherboard bending too much / not in the way it should.

Anyway, the CPU is build to run at up to 95°C, you are 20 below, that should be fine. Eventually you can limit the TDP or disable boost in BIOS if you feel uncomfortable with those temps, I'd be more worried about those two screws holding the cooler and bending the motherboard, but maybe that's just me. ;-)

I think it's fine the pump is not that heavy compared to ordinary coolers.
It's not only about the weight, it's also about the right distribution of the pressure.

Do you use GridCoin?
No.

my watercooler fans to be horizontal from vertical due to lack of space
Is the radiator at the bottom or at the top of the case? Make sure the pump isn't the highest placed thing of such AIO water cooler.

I also learned about thermal paste and used a high-quality grease (hoping it's not fake) that stays dry at low temperatures and becomes liquid at high temperatures.
What brand is it? Good thermal grease stays the same at all temperatures.

The only issue is that there's no proper mount for the AM4, and I can't find an adapter anymore, so it's only connected by two screws.
Well, that's not good, either the pressure is too low or you are stressing the two mounting holes too much and might damage the mainboard one day.

with limits set at 90% and 95% of the time processor
In general it's recommended to run 100% of the time and in case it's necessary, limit the amount of cores used. Might be not an issue now for you, but some apps might get stuck if not running 100% of time, had that issue with Milkyway nBody for example, other people reported same for Rosetta.

Is there enough water in the cooling system and is it mounted properly?
I'm not entirely sure, but the pipes for my water cooling system are still very difficult to squeeze.
Well, does it make sounds like there's air going thru the pump?

Regarding my graphics card, I'm still using the Nvidia GTX 2060, which has been very helpful for video processing. It can process 4K clips in just 40 seconds instead of 40 minutes when only using the CPU. I'm considering upgrading to the Intel ARC 770, but it's currently expensive compared to its performance. Does anyone have experience with Intel cards nowadays?"
There's a thread at Einstein about those cards. Considering the amount of projects using those cards and the complete lack of hardware FP64 I'd say either keep your current card or buy something from nVidia or AMD.

Hellow Link , Did it die or did you give up on it ?
I replaced it with the GTX 275 to crunch Milkyway again, it probably could run for a decade or two more, it had a custom cooler from PowerColor, which kept it at around 52°C when crunching, even with the fan @7V, so no thermal stress at all.

ps = thanks for the app.info had to modify it and use it to get the 1.3 app to work on XP32

No, that's not the issue, but the last two times when they had that issue with millions of WUs waiting for validation, I was sometimes out of work. Perhaps I could increase the cache next time I see waiting for validation piling up.

Yes, but sometimes it doesn't, I'm not running huge cache.

I guess you're running out of things to do with it. I'm surprised such an old card is still going, does it run 24/7?
I got it in November, the previous owner used it just for gaming many years ago, so it's almost new. ;-)
Not running 24/7 here either, just when doing other stuff on that computer.
Before I had an ATI 3850 and that couldn't do anything else than Moo! as that's the last project with an ATI CAL application.

If it's the GTX 275 I can see in your details, that would be too slow.

But you could run it on Einstein or Milkyway.
Runs on Milkyway as main project, Moo! is backup. Einstein needs more VRAM for FGRPB1G and all other new apps, it would probably work for BRP4, but they removed the CUDA app for that long ago, otherwise that might have been the main project.

At the current rate, yes, but hardware gets faster every day.

Why are we bothering? Everybody go find cancer cures on other projects instead of wasting your time here.
For me just a backup project for my GPU, which can't run most of the projects, the alternative would be PrimeGrid, but that's pretty much same "useful" math stuff as this here. Unlike PSS from PrimeGrid, this isn't endless at least, so the pile get smaller every day. I agree, that this project doesn't seem to be useful in any way, but that applies to many BOINC projects. Comparred to what some people suggest at WUprop while hunting some worthless badges, at least we know what it is doing and what is more important: we know who runs it.

I can also imagine, that some people prefer to "waste their time" here than work for free for the pharmaceutical industry, which will make lots of money once the cure is found. There are different points of view.

Have you tried adding Moo in the BOINC Manager on that computer? What does the log say when you do that? The computer is not in the list of your computers yet.

In addition, I have an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G (full spec) processor with processing limits set at 70% and 95% time, Win11 64-bit. Despite these limits, the processor is still running during my workload, and I'm concerned about the high temperature of 76C (168.8F).
Well, the limits say use 70% ot the processor cores and run 95% of the time. The setting "Suspend when computer is in use" is a different one and also you must set BOINC to run based on preferences and not always in the activity menu. In general it should be fine to run 100% of the time even when you are using the computer for something else.

Can you please share your experience with temperature management? I've invested in some expensive blue thermal paste, but it's hard and sticky on the CPU. Additionally, I'm using outdated 2-fan water cooling.
There must be something really wrong with your cooling, this CPU has a TDP of 65W, a simple air cooler should be able to cool it way below the temperature you have. What thermal paste is it? Expensive does not automatically mean good. Is there enough air flow in the case? Are the fans spinning too slow perhaps? Is there much dust on/in the radiator? Is there enough water in the cooling system and is it mounted properly? Always hard to guess without seeing and hearing the system.

The values for avg_ncpus and max_ncpus you can adjust to whatever suits your computer best, if you for example need 1 core per task, than set them both to 1. If you don't run CPU tasks at all, than they don't matter and you can leave them as they are.
I see your computer uses 1 whole CPU core per task, so best set avg_ncpus and max_ncpus to 1 like this:

  <avg_ncpus>1.00</avg_ncpus>
  <max_ncpus>1.00</max_ncpus>
