Ross:
im running my 5970 without issue.
(see http://moowrap.net/results.php?hostid=91 if you're curious)
However, i've issues with 2x6950.
I've to look for the check interval bug, cause somtime that machine (cross-fire enabled) hangs on a unit for quite a long time, instead of aborting and continue with the next one.

Hopefully, the new algo for the check interval will fix this.

Steve:
im building a new machine too.
I'll opt for 3x6950.

What did you have in mind for the motherboard?

This is the first version in the 6.12 branch which is public release.

So update when you get time.

Any possibility of having the CPU client over here too? As I said, I don't have any GPU that qualifies for BOINC.

A CPUs represent a really low processing unit for RC5-72 vs a GPU.
Our effort is to stabilize everything with GPUs at the moment.

CPU units will become available soon.

I would say version 1.03 or 1.04 is more realistic.

Darwin support with CUDA should be _easy_ to do.
Stay tuned.

Any news?

We're working on it.

no, this request was not missed.
We totally changed the credit system, like you probably noticed.
That task will probably receive 502*7=3514 credits eventually.
There's a huge list of things to fix and new feature on the roadmap

Thanks for your patience and keep crunching ;)

I don't want to enter in this fight, but, since many users complained about moo! was not in boincstats, this is now a past thing.
I saw this new section:
http://boincstats.com/stats/project_graph.php?pr=moowrapper

I guess the credit merge will happen soon.

Thanks to willy and boincstats for this.

I also notice moo! is listed in the top 15 active project in boincstats, so I wanna thank every Moo! Wrapper user!

Steve,
at 775k, this is when it was only 5 credit/stat units.
This has been increased at 7 credit/stat units.
So this will result, you should be around 995k/day now.

ya, the app dnetc518-win32-x86-stream needs to exit properly to avoid some problems.

I'll do some research to minimize that "1 minute problem".

thanks for reporting aad.

518 fixes something regarding the OGR-27, which is not running on GPU, so it didnt affect us.
More infos at:
http://blogs.distributed.net/2011/04/11/15/12/mikereed/
But we're already running 518.

519 is in beta stage at the moment for GPU.
Like you can see at:

if I'm not wrong, boinc send a signal (SIGINT) to quit.
To avoid any lost work, dnetc518-win32-x86-stream finishes properly by syncing all his threads, writing works to files, sending pending works to servers, etc.

Copycat-Digital, the reason is cause the work assigned were at 5.
All the new work will be at 7 now.

It's up to Teemu to increase that credit.
But since we see many users aren't happy, we'll maybe put 8 back (and not 8.05).
That will make everyone happy.

btw, the reason why this projet isnt in boincstats yet, isnt our fault. We got the confirmation days ago (by Willy) that Moo! Wrapper will be added to boincstats.
He has some problem with his servers and we'll soon be in there.
We're already in Free-DC stats thought.

What! I'm running dual 5870s. 2240 CR for 10 minutes of my cards time is less than other ATI projects and 1/4 of the old DNET.

I noticed your work units out have dropped by 1/3 from this time yesterday. People let you use their hardware for credits. If you can't compete with other ATI projects than give it up. And definitely don't act like your doing us a favor if you can't keep up with DNET.

I see you are running:
[May 12 20:27:36 UTC] RC5-72: Summary: 7 packets (448.00 stats units)
                      0.00:10:38.29 - [3,014.51 Mkeys/s]

which is correct.

2240*6*24=322560 credit per day.
This is about the same as Milkyway and more then collatz.

We will probably increase it just a little bit.

P.S. Dan, we are really respectful in here, if you could do the same, this will make a better place for everyone.
Thanks for understanding.

The problem before that change was:
some people with cheap GPUs were giving the same credits as the other ones with GPUs much more faster.
The CPU time should not be a factor for credits.
The faster you can complete the stats units, more credits you will get.

That change is not fair for people having lower GPUs, but it's fair for people with faster GPUs (5870, 5970, 6950, etc)

We'll see how it goes, but (like Teemu said) we already consider increasing more then 5 credits per stat units.

If you don't want CUDA crunchers around, why bother creating the app? This won't even come close to competing with PG.

Some GPUs are better at some tasks, I don't think its fair to say "for CUDA, a different rule apply", let's apply the same rule for everyone.

By the way, we did not "create" the CUDA app, we just wrap it. There's still a lot of credits given to CUDA vs a CPU.

Conan: the -bench that you're running is per cruncher.
So if you have 2x5870, it will launched 2 crunchers, which will result in doubling the speed.

exact, like you can see, core #3 is MUCH more faster then core #0.
Sadly, this is a bug in the d.net client, not in the wrapper.

I would say yes, you have to go with trial and error.

the goal of the auto-detect (-1) is to avoid that trial & error method.
It works fine on some system, but sadly, it doesn't work well on ALL systems.

If you find something better then the auto-detect, feel free to publish it for other users having the same setup as you.
