No, you don't crunch for Moo, Moo does not have own scientific research, it's just a bridge to distributed.net for BOINC users for RC5 tasks (and yoyo@home did the same for OGR tasks, but that seems to be completed now). Ah ok. Would be nice if the stats were linked to from the Moo page though, since that's where I end up when I click in the Boinc Manager.

I started simply at the page of the project, that we are actually crunching for. ;-) I meant to solve the cipher. But it's rather confusing, I'm crunching for moo, not whatever distributed.net is.

Stats in the computing menu takes me to a list of pages for user stats. So, looks like we need more power. All my fully functional [1] GPUs are mainly doing Primegrid at the moment, I'll put some over here. [1] I've got a couple which crash tasks from 50% of projects within 5 seconds, yet the other 50% of projects are fine. Very odd. Doesn't seem to depend on VRAM usage either. They will do Einstein, Amicable numbers, and WCG, but not Milkyway, Primegrid, or Moo.

(Message 8398) Posted 25 Oct 2022 by Mr P Hucker Post: If nothing helps, as a workaround you can limit Moo only to one concurrent GPU WU on that machine and run something else on the other. You will eventually have to check if you need to limit Moo in this case to one specific GPU, as we don't know 1. If the Moo task running on GPU 1 makes GPU 0 unusable for anything or just for another Moo task. 2. If Moo is simply unable to run at all on GPU 0 for whatever reason. 3. If Moo is unable to run on GPU 0 if GPU 1 is in use. Since I have 8 Windows PCs with GPUs scattered across them, I can put Moo on single GPU systems. And AFAIK it's ok with 2 GPUs if they're not on the same card.

If we see it using sometimes dev0 and sometimes dev1 (Milkyway has that info in std_err output) than everything is OK with your setup and unfortunately I am in this case out of ideas regarding why Moo is running only 1 task. I believe it's only required if you have different types of card. Then Boinc will select the best one only, if set to 0. Since I've only ever had Tahiti chips plugged into it, Boinc probably decided they were all "best", so the setting made no difference to anything. On another machine where I had a Baffin and a Tahiti, I need to change it to 1 to make them both work in Boinc. 3. All BOINC projects except Moo run two GPU Wus at the same time. Correct. I remember from Milkyway some discussions about cards with 2 GPUs on them, maybe you should try to search there in the forums. I'm sure I turned that off (I assume you mean the physical switch on the card) because otherwise no Boinc project worked on it. If it was on, everything would see it as a single card, including MSI Afterburner. But somehow the Boinc programs didn't utilise the other chip. Crossfire must be games only, and not OpenCL processing.

I've never had more than 5 GPUs on that machine. My exclude tags are meant to be wrong. It's to save me time. I used to forbid for example GPU 0 from a project, and when I want to disable that command, I just add the preceding 1 to make it 10, which it ignores since I don't have a GPU 10.

Not hard, just browse the top computers list and you get for example this one. Same here, some tasks run on GPU 0, some on GPU 1. I didn't know where to look for such things. I can't see your 2nd link at the moment, the server isn't responding, although your first link is ok. Are you saying you can't get both GPUs to use Moo, or you get one task on each? I can't run Moo on two Tahiti AMD chips, which are on the same card. Boinc treats them as two seperate GPUs, and so does MSI Afterburner, but Moo doesn't notice the second one.
