61) Message boards : Number crunching : Legacy Dual GPUs, BOINC assigned work to both but only one with load (Message 7876) Posted 10 Jan 2018 by mikey Post: I have 2 legacy ATI Radeon HD 3870 cards. When using Moo wrapper, BOINC assigns 2 tasks, 1 for each GPU. I used GPU-Z to investigate the GPUs when i noticed the one was running very hot compared to the other and that is when I discovered that only of the cards had any load. The one card runs 100% load while the other does nothing. Hello, I have a very similar problem : with Dnetc 1.04 and AMD application, it is impossible to compute on AMD GPU. The application is rather using the integrated GPU (Intel HD Graphics 4600 on a Core i7 4790K). I have tested separately with two GPU : a HD 7970 and a R9 Fury. It is the same that was suggested there: https://moowrap.net/forum_thread.php?id=484&postid=7674#7674 I have tried to update the amd driver, and to blacklist the gpu, without success. Could it be a command line switch to add in an app_config.xml file, to select the correct gpu ? I am winning!! Haha. Winning! Oh yeah the weather people all make it sound like some 'storm of the century' or 'the apocalypse' or some other crazy thing they can make it sound unusual so you will listen to THEM instead of our heads and then people go nuts at the grocery stores etc. It's 18F right now going up into the high 20's later on then tomorrow it will be in the upper 40's and by Thursday and Friday into the mid 60's!! No trips to the grocery store for me though so I am winning!! I went to the store yesterday. Today here is wonderful weather. Winning! Yup good weather for me today too...getting up near 60F, I am winning!!

Can you tell me what I should o as every time it downloads it says the same thing: Filename: dnetc520-win32-x86-opencl.exe Threat name: Heur.AdvML.CFull Path: c:\programdata\boinc\slots\3\dnetc520-win32-x86-opencl.exe This is because they are looking at 'the way things are being done' not an actual virus itself, they change so often that wouldn't work. If you just exclude the Boinc directories from your a/v scans then you will not get these false positives anymore. ALL Projects aggressively scan their systems to keep viruses away so the chance of getting one from them is very small so excluding the Boinc directories is a good thing, any REAL virus will try to break out of the Boinc directories and be caught by Norton, in your case, and then you can handle it appropriately.

They work fine on Linux though!! He he. I lost my oem win 8.1 licence when i stop using HDD in this machine and started using SSD. Now this machine is very good for watching videos, using little bit of boinc(seti@home and Primegrid) and listen music. Cpu is slow Pentium N3520 but still working. Winning! Yup Linux does good things with older hardware. Yup. Winning! Although I have not gotten an AMD gpu to work on Linux yet, and crunch that it. I can make them use the gpu for the screen display, but crunching is beyond me so far. I have same problem in my Intel integrated gpu. But...winning! Oh I stopped using those years ago, made for too much heat for me in my laptop, but YES it's a pain in the neck sometimes!!
