Think I have figured why my 5970 is fubared. Whenever I try running this on it the current and vrm temps go haywire. Switching to this my vrm temps almost instantly went from low 90's to 137+. Similar massive spike on vddc current. Anyone else have problems with 5970 card with this project or do I just have a faulty card? Team Renegades Forum |

I had a similar problem with an older Power Color 4750 when DNETC started. The card was already out of warranty & I removed the cooling fan unit. I found that the manufacturer applied only a drop of heat- paste covering only part of the GPU. I applied CPU paste and it was fine. The current spike sounds abnormal. I run full OCed cards and the voltage stays the same on all of them under full load I think your card is faulty |

It croaked...again. Back to a GTS 250. Card is under warranty but seller went bust. Doesn't seem to be any U.K Sapphire support. C'est la vie. Power hog anyway. Team Renegades Forum |

It croaked...again. You mean your 5970 is broken for good? How does that problem manifest itself? I had problems with my 5970 few weeks ago and it's now offline pending further analysis. But it seems it might have died since every time BOINC/Moo adds any load to the card, it will just hang the whole workstation. Sometimes there's also some funky colors seen on the monitor at the same time.. :( -w |
