With the apparent demise of dnet (perhaps the 3rd ending over there is the real one), I've relocated the GPU cycles over here

what's up with andrOINC? was dnetc trying to change their name and crashed their entire system? Or add a 2nd project but copied over their dnetc databases? The info is showing up double on my account pages but under both names:

DNETC@Home 10,558,289 0 10 Apr 2010
AndrOINC 10,558,289 0 10 Apr 2010

Long Version:

There was a URL redirect put in place to direct people searching for andrOINC, and sending them to DNetC when andrOINC's server was first siezed. Wasnt the best idea on the block as it played havoc with URLs, DNS - the whole nine yards. It was a few days before they stopped the redirect, but by then the damage was done.

Now with DNetC also being off line - and no knowledge of if or when they return - its a real problem. To easily solve all the consequencies of the silly redirect they need androinc server, which wont be any time soon - quite apart from the fact that DNetC appears to have gone AWOL.

It will be a while before all the backlash gets sorted, far too many inponderables at present. Next way point will be finding out if DNetC are going to return, if they dont, it gets real messy as the various Stats Sites would have to take independent action to purge the problems, that could be "exciting" as unco-ordinated action (amongst those who dont have a need to - as such - talk to each other) is going to be less than fun.

Short Version - dont hold your breath, this is going to go on for a good while yet before its all sorted.

Regards
Zy

lol

dnetc has been one of the flakier projects in recent memory, but yeah that's, to put it politely, a mess...

Cool, you are welcome to Moo! Wrapper, Barry!

I hope to service your (and any other refugees) distributed.net crunching urges. :) As such, feel free to point me to any problems or to any things we should do better and I'll try my best to address them. Thanks!

Duly pointing.

Thanks, it's on my list to fix for next app version. Should really work on that as there are some nasty bugs in current version.
