Hi friends, After I managed to get ATI running everything is fine, but I have a question. There are some tasks that are invalid and there are some in pending state. I saw something about invalid tasks and that is maybe not to worry about. How about pending? Will they pend forever or ???. Maybe Teemu has an answer? My PC is 1593. |

Hi friends, Hi Bernt No not forever. When a WU is sent out at Moo, its usually only sent to one person - if you click on the blue number for that WU in the Task Column (you'll find the Task Column in Account Page - Computers - tasks - follow your nose) for each WU, you will see the number of times it was sent out, and the number of validations needed to be accepted and credit granted, shown like this: minimum quorum 1 initial replication 1 If the WU does not pass the validation, and that can be for many reasons, not all bad news, then the WU is sent out again for someone else to crunch. When it gets sent back by them the results are compared and a decision made. Whilst the process happens the WU is marked as : "Completed, validation inconclusive" ie its waiting for someone else to do it as well (or its waiting in a queue for the Server to do initial validation). Depending on the decision, it gets moved to the Valid Column (credits awarded), the invalid column or the error column. In the case of the latter two it will give a (very) broad reason why its there, and no credits awarded. Nil credits happens from time to time, nothing to worry about, however if it happens very frequently - or even a few times a day, something is wrong somewhere, and you need to check up on it. Bottom line ..... Pendings: Its ok, wait for the process to work through Invalid or Error Columns: Could be a problem somewhere if its happening frequently. Regards Zy |
