Hi there, I'm facing some difficulties in joining tasks on Moowrap. I'm not sure why this is happening, as the forums appear to be active. It's possible that there could be an issue with my PC or my firewall, although other BOINC projects are running smoothly. I can see tasks ready to send: 3564, so the server is running. In addition, I have an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G (full spec) processor with processing limits set at 70% and 95% time, Win11 64-bit. Despite these limits, the processor is still running during my workload, and I'm concerned about the high temperature of 76C (168.8F). Can you please share your experience with temperature management? I've invested in some expensive blue thermal paste, but it's hard and sticky on the CPU. Additionally, I'm using outdated 2-fan water cooling. Thank you in advance for your support! opinie o lekach /medicine review |

Have you tried adding Moo in the BOINC Manager on that computer? What does the log say when you do that? The computer is not in the list of your computers yet. In addition, I have an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G (full spec) processor with processing limits set at 70% and 95% time, Win11 64-bit. Despite these limits, the processor is still running during my workload, and I'm concerned about the high temperature of 76C (168.8F).Well, the limits say use 70% ot the processor cores and run 95% of the time. The setting "Suspend when computer is in use" is a different one and also you must set BOINC to run based on preferences and not always in the activity menu. In general it should be fine to run 100% of the time even when you are using the computer for something else. Can you please share your experience with temperature management? I've invested in some expensive blue thermal paste, but it's hard and sticky on the CPU. Additionally, I'm using outdated 2-fan water cooling. There must be something really wrong with your cooling, this CPU has a TDP of 65W, a simple air cooler should be able to cool it way below the temperature you have. What thermal paste is it? Expensive does not automatically mean good. Is there enough air flow in the case? Are the fans spinning too slow perhaps? Is there much dust on/in the radiator? Is there enough water in the cooling system and is it mounted properly? Always hard to guess without seeing and hearing the system. |

Thank you for your reply. I have some updates that may be useful for other members: Is there enough air flow in the case? Are the fans spinning too slow perhaps? I recently upgraded my PC by switching to a modern PC case (which, by the way, I found that some no-name cases and branded cases look exactly the same but have different prices) and adjusting my watercooler fans to be horizontal from vertical due to lack of space. I also learned about thermal paste and used a high-quality grease (hoping it's not fake) that stays dry at low temperatures and becomes liquid at high temperatures. I used also some old thermal paste as well to ensure there were no gaps on the CPU. AMD's density scale goes as deep as 7nm, making it difficult to cool quickly, but it remains stable up to 85C(185F). The only issue is that there's no proper mount for the AM4, and I can't find an adapter anymore, so it's only connected by two screws. However, the final effect is that it's now maxing out at a stable 72C (161.6F) with limits set at 90% and 95% of the time processor, instead of 80-84C(184F). Is there enough water in the cooling system and is it mounted properly? I'm not entirely sure, but the pipes for my water cooling system are still very difficult to squeeze. Sometimes I miss the days when my water cooling system took up some space and looked like a small aquarium. Regarding my graphics card, I'm still using the Nvidia GTX 2060, which has been very helpful for video processing. It can process 4K clips in just 40 seconds instead of 40 minutes when only using the CPU. I'm considering upgrading to the Intel ARC 770, but it's currently expensive compared to its performance. Does anyone have experience with Intel cards nowadays?" opinie o lekach /medicine review |

my watercooler fans to be horizontal from vertical due to lack of spaceIs the radiator at the bottom or at the top of the case? Make sure the pump isn't the highest placed thing of such AIO water cooler. I also learned about thermal paste and used a high-quality grease (hoping it's not fake) that stays dry at low temperatures and becomes liquid at high temperatures. What brand is it? Good thermal grease stays the same at all temperatures. The only issue is that there's no proper mount for the AM4, and I can't find an adapter anymore, so it's only connected by two screws.Well, that's not good, either the pressure is too low or you are stressing the two mounting holes too much and might damage the mainboard one day. with limits set at 90% and 95% of the time processorIn general it's recommended to run 100% of the time and in case it's necessary, limit the amount of cores used. Might be not an issue now for you, but some apps might get stuck if not running 100% of time, had that issue with Milkyway nBody for example, other people reported same for Rosetta. Well, does it make sounds like there's air going thru the pump?Is there enough water in the cooling system and is it mounted properly?I'm not entirely sure, but the pipes for my water cooling system are still very difficult to squeeze. Regarding my graphics card, I'm still using the Nvidia GTX 2060, which has been very helpful for video processing. Does anyone have experience with Intel cards nowadays?"There's a thread at Einstein about those cards. Considering the amount of projects using those cards and the complete lack of hardware FP64 I'd say either keep your current card or buy something from nVidia or AMD. |

Hey Link, It's always mounted on the top of the case, but the new case has space for a second fan put horizontally. I use Artic MX-4. Might be fake. What temperatures do you have? I think it's fine the pump is not that heavy compared to ordinary coolers. I can't find any adaptor for MaelStrom 240T. Okay, I changed it to 100%. No sound on the pomp. I use Artic MX-4. Might be fake.MX-4 is grey, not blue. Or do you mean the tube? What temperatures do you have?I have around 50°C tCase (set as target in BIOS) resulting in 56-62°C core temp on my Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 with a TDP of 65W using some cheap white noname thermal grease I bought over 20 years ago and Intel's stock cooler running at around 50-60% (in summer maybe up to 75%) of it's max speed, crunching @100%. So considering your cooling setup and that your AMD Ryzen 5 5600G has also a TDP of 65W and even soldered IHS, I'm not impressed by the cooling results at first glance, OTOH a quick google search reveals, that full load core temperatures of around 75°C are not uncommon for this CPU (it's boosting way above it's TDP of 65W). Do you have some air cooler suitable for this CPU? I still think the current cooler might not be pressed properly to the CPU, either simply by not enough preassure or what's worse, by the motherboard bending too much / not in the way it should. Anyway, the CPU is build to run at up to 95°C, you are 20 below, that should be fine. Eventually you can limit the TDP or disable boost in BIOS if you feel uncomfortable with those temps, I'd be more worried about those two screws holding the cooler and bending the motherboard, but maybe that's just me. ;-) I think it's fine the pump is not that heavy compared to ordinary coolers. It's not only about the weight, it's also about the right distribution of the pressure. Do you use GridCoin? I do what can I help you with? MooWrapper is not on the GridCoin Whitelist here is the current list https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JWf8twPVIpOWWn1tg5358Xqh3oGa_mat1KCluYG1I8I/htmlview#gid=0 |
