i think it'd solve a lot of problems for a lot of people if we could just select which app type we want from prefs. cuda31, cuda60, cuda 70, opencl i have a host that has to restart every day and it's annoying that it has to run through a bunch of far slower cuda before the server finally gives it opencl. |

I would really like to have this option as well. The (opencl_nvidia_101) tasks run a LOT faster than any of the (cuda31/40/60/70) tasks do on all of my GPUs, so it would be very nice to be able to tell the project to only give OpenCL tasks to my computers! Especially since they seem to get several days worth of the CUDA tasks before finally switching over to OpenCL. |

Is it possible to select only the OpenCL app via APP_INFO or similar configuration file? |

Never mind. I did the "rename the application" trick, which worked fine. Within a few hours I was getting the OpenCL app tasks natively. |

Is it possible to select only the OpenCL app via APP_INFO or similar configuration file? Yes, you can use the one I posted while talking here to myself as reference. ;-) The files you should already have, so skip steps 1 and 2, and the infos about them you'll find in your client_state.xml, so just need to copy to the app_info.xml from there. |
