FINALLY new app version 1.5 app is released for first platforms (Windows CPU and OpenCL). Biggest improvements are newer D.net Client and BOINC upstream changed to wrapper which both bring fixes and some new features. More information can be found in the changelog post at https://moowrap.net/forum_thread.php?id=206&postid=2265#2265. As always, please report any problems getting work or having work fail more often in the relevant forum here. Note that there can be some confusion in the BOINC Scheduler as it tries to recalculate stats for best performing app variant for you (like OpenCL vs. native GPU apps). PS. BOINC Server has also gotten some updates from BOINC developers so there's been lots of churn lately. The server migration is also progressing. |

When will the Server Status page reflect the new Application times https://moowrap.net/server_status.php Thanks Bill F In October of 1969 I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; There was no expiration date. |

mcafee epo cloud detects the new app as Artemis!A8478C1EA9FD. Which one? The wrapper app or the D.net Client? And this is the OpenCL app? Looks like "Artemis" is codename for their heuristic detection, which usually have problems with new D.net Clients until they realize they are fine (so called false positives). More information about Artemis can be found in https://service.mcafee.com/webcenter/portal/cp/home/articleview?articleId=TS100414. -w |

When will the Server Status page reflect the new Application times Unfortunately, Server Status page doesn't go into version specific, just app level, so it'll have both v1.4 and v1.5 times and work status intermingled. The times will include v1.5 work as soon as there's results returned (there has been and there is increasingly). -w |

How do you make BOINC download the new 1.5 ? I just did a project reset and got 1.4 again. |

How do you make BOINC download the new 1.5 ? It'll happen automatically when the app is available for your platform. At the moment only nVidia OpenCL is out and the 64-bit CPU app is in beta (both for Windows). I'll get more released depending if there are any problems. -w |

Ah okay. Your change history post said: "Updated D.net Client for OpenCL (both AMD and nVidia) to build 521", so I was expecting it as well. |

Right, I agree that my messages haven't been that clear on what apps are out. One can keep an eye on the release progress in the https://moowrap.net/apps.php page. I've released the Windows AMD OpenCL as a beta now and wouldn't be mind some people to flip the beta flag and try it out. The reason I'm doing staggering releases and beta is that I don't want to my main contributing apps to start failing for all work or something to that effect. -w |

As always, please report ... having work fail more often in the relevant forum here. The 1.05 app (openCL nvidia) was failing all work units after 9 seconds. So I have updated all softwares (boinc, virtuabox and nvidia drivers) to their latest version Now the 1.05 app (openCL nvidia) fails all work units after 17 seconds. Core i7-4790, 16GB, Win 10 64b GeForce GTX 980 All other projects using the GPU are running fine. |

As always, please report ... having work fail more often in the relevant forum here. Curious.. "can't run app: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service." so I wonder what it runs out of.. Although, do you happen to run McAfee anti-virus? It seems to be detecting the new app for some reason but I suspect it's the age old false positive. If you could try to exclude Moo! Wrapper project from it's heuristic scanning and see if that helps? -w |

Have you considered a BETA version update for the 1.03 (cuda31) applications to 105 ? Also Dell builds a lot of Intel based laptops with Intel GPU's. Currently they will only run the Microsoft Windows (98 or later) running on an Intel x86-compatible CPU 1.05 (beta test) app even though they are Open CL capable. EXCLUDE ALL BOINC PROGRAM and BOINC DATA folders from scanning by McAfee. |

If you could try to exclude Moo! Wrapper project from it's heuristic scanning and see if that helps? I have now done this, and Moo is running again. We had not needed this exclusion in quite while, so I had forgotten about it. The tricky part was to include the exe file not only from the BOINC\projects folder but also in the BOINC\slots Thanks for the help. |

The tricky part was to include the exe file not only from the BOINC\projects folder but also in the BOINC\slots Another tricky issue is that Moo can end up in different BOINC slots (obviously) and McAfee LiveSafe does not allow excluding whole folders and subfolders but only individual files in specific folders, so one has to kind of catch the dnetc client in the act in every possible folder. So let's hope McAfee realizes this is a false positive sooner rather than later. |
