Hello all - Okay, I have to apologize but I am confused. I've signed up for Moo Wrapper (using my real email address and the same username I use on other BOINC projects). When I look at the distributed.net status pages, I see "Admpicard999@moowrap.net" as the email/username listed for me. I don't have any issue with that, other than that if I try to edit my information in Distributed.net, I can't because I have no idea what the password is, and if I use the "email me my password" function that doesn't appear to work. I'm definitely not okay with posting my email address publicly (I get enough spam as it is, not wanting to invite more, but am okay with legitimate emails from the project), and I'm not going to create another email address and actually check it. So, my questions are: 1. Does it really matter that I can't get to the password protected portion of the stats page on distributed.net? 2. Is there any way to get/reset the password while retaining the "username@moowrap.net" format? I tried searching the forums, and I found other instances (several years ago) where people found similar issues but nothing about resolutions. Thanks for your help! |

When I look at the distributed.net status pages, I see "Admpicard999@moowrap.net" as the email/username listed for me. Yeah, that's the default we use to prevent the BOINC Email address getting revealed. You can set the email used in Dnet Client in project preferences if you wish to use some other email. 1. Does it really matter that I can't get to the password protected portion of the stats page on distributed.net? Depends, you need access if you want to change the settings in Dnet Statistics for that account. One such thing is the team to which the account contributes to (in the Dnet Statistics). 2. Is there any way to get/reset the password while retaining the "username@moowrap.net" format? If you want that password, you can request it on their site and then notify me via private message here and I can forward the password email to you. This is manual process until we can implement some kind of special automation for this between dnet and moowrap. -w |

If you do not your points do not count for a Team and are not counted on DC Vault. I lost 14 Mil because I had to change from my user ID to an email address. Also make sure you correct your info on Distributed.net so it is not show your email address, that is the default. Crunching@EVGA The Number One Team in the BOINC Community. Under Distributed.net ID WARNING! This address can be included in public listings and can get harvested by spammers. Please, choose one where you can tolerate spam (but you should be able to receive mails). It would have helped if it said :Distributed.net (Email Address) and Not ID Only a thought.
