As a result of our recent server code update, we can now have badges. I've enabled the badge assignment task and first ones are now granted and getting exported in our stats. You can also see them all over our website where users are mentioned.

Badges in use are the default user and team gold/silver/bronze badges for top 1%/5%/25% RAC. Please let me know if you have any ideas for other badges. Preferably with cool icons to use.

Happy crunching while hunting those badges!

I like badges too. But for sure not the "Badges in use are the default user and team gold/silver/bronze badges for top 1%/5%/25% RAC"

However, don't you believe it would be nicer to have applications working properly on all GPU's (i.e. without app_info etc for 7950,7970, R9, ...)rather than badges ?

Will give another try on this project when I receive the TITAN BLACK.

Hello toTOW!

I am currently (temporarly) running 2 * HD7950 : Impossible to crunch a single WU's due to OpenCL missing for GCL cards !

One needs to use an app_info to get WU's for 7xxx cards, and it is impossible to run on R9 290/290X

http://moowrap.net/forum_thread.php?id=358#6011

Although I like badges, I think it is more important to have applications that work without "do-it-yourself" app_info ...

Hi Phil,

What OS are you using that has missing OpenCL for HD 79xx?
Win8.1 complains my HD 7790 has no CAL+, but merrily reports OpenCL.
Ubuntu 14.04 gives big trouble with OpenCL for all my AMD cards.

I couldn't agree more. I think badge hunters want a badge to keep. Something to recognise what they have done, not necessarily what they are currently doing. Though by all means do both if you want to.

Dirk there has done a lot of work on Moo, I reckon if you are going to give out badges then he deserves one for that even if he stops for a while, and it might just tempt him to go for the 100M - though I think he is doing that anyway ;-)

Just look at what most of the other badge projects are doing! :-)

That's indeed "nicer", that's why the badges are the stock ones as they were easy to just enable. :) Even if changing badges and implementing new/different ones is not top priority, it's good to have recommendations/suggestions bouncing around.

At the moment I'm working on getting the wrapper refreshed so I can deploy the newer Dnet Clients that should fix various problems. Including getting an OpenCL app out that should work much better on newer cards. At least stability wise, if not necessarily performance.

An OpenCL app would be good - if it will really work on newer cards.
As long as current cards (eg. R9 290) are not supported at all i also don't care much about improved stability !

Any news on this? And preferably badges for obtained levels of achievement -as with other projects-, not for present rate of achievement -which gives only the generic 'bages' that you can get for lots of other projects as well (Seti, Seti Beta, even NFS hands them too alongside to their real badges)

And I would want a badge that I can display, those badges based upon RAC are not recognized as such by the two main signature sites -mainly because you cannot distinguish those RAC badges from another-.

I like the RAC badge idea, but could we have a credit badge, please - so maybe 10k, 100k, 250k, 1m, 10m, 50m, 100m, etc...? I would love that, and it would make me (and probably others) inclined to crunch more for this project, so I could get more badges...

Thanks,
From Chris

So where is the glossary of badges located?

Maybe you could add the badge to the certificate?

or use color on the border like these...
