Winning because I'm getting paid to go to the Cape Town Jazz Festival! I wish your comment was totally true! "Good music" - some of it is good, some of it is utter rubbish, and that's not just because it's possibly not my taste. You can see by the audience's reactions. "Good Food" - Maybe for those who buy their food from the stalls, etc. For the TV crew, a piece of chicken and chips (french fries) was supper. "Lots of people" - that's true! I believe 35000 people over the 2 days. And it is nice because our TV truck is parked just outside the venue, so no crowds! Oh, and I saw someone I know on camera. Took a pic and added it to the pic she put up on facebook - she loved it! "You get paid" - that part is nice! So I'm winning before getting ready for tonight's JazzFest. Winning because I'm getting paid to go to the Cape Town Jazz Festival! Tearing everything down and putting it away wasn't my favorite part of post job w*&king either! On the firetrucks they draw lines around every piece of hardware when it is in it's bracket so you know what what goes where, trying to find it when it is missing though is NOT fun!! As for the music I don't like every song I hear either, hopefully the people doing the bad songs learn and get better, otherwise they are probably not destined for stardom! Are you 'married'? If not I hope you can exploit the young lady with the picture, that would be a 'perk' of the job! I LOVED overtime, it meant a really good paycheck, except for the taxes they take out! Well I got to bed at 05:15 and woke at 11:15 to go to my next job! But only a few ours editing, so wasn't a problem. Yes, I'm married, so no go on the lady. Overtime is my normal life... What you've said is so true. Over the last year I have tried to commit to more family time. This weekend meant I turned away a 3 day job, and then later was offered a 4 day job which I turned away. But it was absolutely great, so I'm glad I did. Makes me a winner! Overtime is my normal life... YES you were!!! I can't tell you how many of my kids things I missed because I was working, it's WAAAAY too many to count!! I needed the money to pay for college and it worked out in the end, one kid has his PHD in Chemistry and the other just got his BS degree in Anthropology.
