No bunkers here. Winning if field. I found a NEW company and they PROMISED ME the fields would ALL be fenced in by Summertime!! The initially said Spring but then decided that it might be too muddy in some places so we agreed on Summer. Soooo enjoy the fields while you can, watch out for the wolves though, and be prepared to ride WOLF FREE come next Fall!!! The flat tyre is fixed by my local garage. Very good service. It was a very thiny spike in the rear left tyre. I haven´t a clue how it managed to get there. Now waiting for new years ev. Winning with a low and poor RAC, but ... You guys just need more pc's!! Mine is coming back up after I had a gpu fan get stuck and the pc crash. I took the whole fan off and replaced the Artic Silver stuff and it is back up and running now. I had to lube the heck out of the fan for a few days with "Power Lube" made by CRC. It is a spray similar to WD-40, but good for electrical stuff as it does NOT leave a residue behind!! The fan is now spinning freely and the card RAC is climbing!! I AM having a small problem in that I have several multiple gpu machines that just won't work on Moo anymore after the system crashes a while back!! They are on Collatz right now getting around 500K RAC between them!! I have one multiple gpu machine here, but the others just won't work! ID: 4348 · Rating: 0 · rate:

Winning with a low and poor RAC, but ... I found a strange way to increase the RAC of my laptop - reduce the CPU speed! HUH??? Ok, an explanation is in order. Some time ago I discovered TThrottle, a program that will monitor your PC's temperature and throttle Boinc to keep the temp below a user-configurable threshold. Depending on the Boinc project, the ambient temp, and whether I lift the back of the laptop up to aid the airflow, it would throttle Boinc processing to as low as 60%. A couple of days ago I noticed a button on the laptop that looks like a fan. Googling tells me it reduces the CPU speed - useful when on battery and to keep the fan quieter. Anyhow, with it activated TThrottle never has to throttle Boinc because the temp stays well below the threshhold, but the Estimated Speed according to BoincView is actually higher! About 150% of the value if I don't use the 'Fan' button. And another positive side-effect is that my laptop is running about 15deg cooler, which is a good thing! Winning regularly while I pass .... I thought there WAS an app it was just so slow that it was not worth using it right now. Odd-Rod do you have a 'laptop cooler' under your laptop? There are MANY different designs but here is an example of some CHEAP ones: https://www.google.com/search?q=laptop+cooler&hl=en&tbo=u&source=univ&tbm=shop&tbs=price:1,ppr_max:15&sa=X&ei=PJDhUKDfO6e00AHnpICoBw&ved=0CF0QtxgoAA&biw=1280&bih=551 I usually but the $5.00 ones and buy 3 at a time and spray lube the fans when they make noise. That quiets them down for a bit, then I throw that one away and move on to the next one. I usually use all 3 over the course of a year of two. I am on a dual core OLD Dell laptop and the cpu is currently at 66F and I am using 1 cpu core to crunch with and the cooler is just quietly spinning.
