i know that this project basically runs the same info as dnetc did. One question i have is, when i processed data for them they had an optimized app version specifically for 69xx ati gpus or newer. If both projects ran apps from distributed.net how come dnetc ran different application versions than moowrapper? Or is an app given, then the project can make optimizations/changes as they see fit? |

Other than your post and mine, the last post on this forum was 37 days ago. Guess we'll need to find help elsewhere :( |

The applications from D.net are used as is, no modifications are possible by downstream (including dnetc) if the results are going to be submitted back to upstream. D.net has pre-release versions (sort of beta testing) available in addition to official released versions. It's possible dnetc used such beta version or even an older build for some cards. Other than guessing, I can't speak for dnetc as I simply don't know what they did or didn't do.. We've been using the latest official versions for our apps, which has been mostly build 518. There's some exceptions, like Mac PPC is only build 511. They did just promote build 519 as the official versions for various platforms, which I'll try to deploy as soon as possible. -w |
