Hey I bought parts to build a new machine for only 400 US dollars, so it CAN be done cheaply! I bought an AMD 1090T X6 cpu, a new motherboard and 16gb of ram all for only 400 bucks! I then used an older case, a power supply and dvd/rw from the pc it was replacing and a copy of 64 bit Win7 Ultimate I have. I liked it so much I sold some pc memory and bought an AMD FX-6100 X6 cpu, motherboard and 16gb of ram all for another 400 US dollars and built another pc for myself. I built two new X6 based pc's and retired four dual core pc's! I also transferred all the gpu's from the old machines to the new ones. I can't be competing with Team Sicituradastra with old hardware!! I will let my signature come thru this time so you can see how well it is working!

I have a 750watt 80+ Bronze in each one made by Antec. It speeds up and slows down depending on the load and seems to be working just fine.

I bought a Corsair and that is a good one.

I am having problems with my FX-6100 machine, it keeps crashing! It could be the hard drive, the memory or even just need a Bios update, I don't know! It was running just fine with 2 gpu's in it then it crashed. Now it won't even start up with just 1 gpu in it! I have to put a different BRAND of gpu in it to make it come up and I even wiped the hard drive and reloaded Windows and it STILL crashed! Oh the joys of building your own pc, sometimes it just works, but when it doesn't it can be painful!!

Turns out my problem was a Kingston brand memory chip, they replaced it for free and all is screaming fast now! They even paid for shipping BOTH ways!!
