Should I be getting work or has this yet to roll out with the new app implementation? Can I run here with 100/100 share with PrimeGrid GPU or does this project have to run alone on all GPU's? Linux Mint12_64 with (2) GTX 460's Thanks |

Hi, Yes, you should be getting work but it seems there's something funky going on with flops estimates when there's no statistics available (like now that there's a new app going out). New scheduler code seems to be conservative and guess that nVidia or ATI GPUs are only as fast as the CPU. That's obviously concerning but I'm not sure yet if this is what you (and some others) are hitting at the moment but I'm looking at this today. Sure, things might get better on its own after those statistics roll in but I still would like to fix this before I deploy to the Windows masses. You should at least have PrimeGrid (or any other GPU project you prefer) setup as a backup project (resource share 0) to keep your systems busy while we sort this problem out (and any other we might have in the future). Moo! Wrapper will use all GPUs while its task is running (and this is told to the BOINC Client via resource usage), but otherwise shouldn't interfere with other GPU projects. However, do note that there might be some BOINC Client bugs lurking when scheduling mix of single and multi-GPU tasks on one host.. -w |
