Teemu - a question born out of frustration .... when does it seem likely DNET will get through this fragmented rubbish and get back to sending proper work units. I understand well enough that MOO can rattle through these far far quicker than compared to DOS based DNET CPU, but there's a limit as to how long we are used to clear up the rubbish. If thats an unfair perception on my part, okie doke, but this fragmented garbage gets in the way of actual productivity. My comment is aimed at DNET not you. I well, well, recognised you have done much in the background to alleviate issues - including the credit adjustment being just one - and mucho gracias for all that :) But DNET are gaining a growing number of pins in my DNET voodoo doll for this fragmented rubbish rofl :) Regards Zy |

Good question, I'll see if I can find out how they are progressing through the old keyspaces. I couldn't easily find any stats page listing those keyspaces, so the information is probably something just an D.Net admin can check. -w |

...... I couldn't easily find any stats page listing those keyspaces, so the information is probably something just an D.Net admin can check. Good Luck with that ...... they are not renowned for being the most responsive of organisations. They seemingly believe that emails are for decoration, and user questions a distraction from the job in hand .... try as I have, I have never succeeded in getting any kind of reply to any topic, never seemed to have latched onto any system of communication where I can get any response, let alone answers :) I cant even find any kind of (active) Forum to post on. Wierd .... Regards Zy |

Good Luck with that ...... they are not renowned for being the most responsive of organisations. Well, maybe I was just lucky but I did manage to extract some information about key subspaces from them. Right now they are recycling work from subspace #3264 and fresh ones start from #3331 so 67 to go. Subspaces are about 85% to 95% completed and at the current rate of ~10%/day we blow through such subspace in about 1-2 days. Given these figures it would still take about 2 months to go through all the old subspaces sequentially and assuming they'll all need to get recycled now. However, technically there's nothing stopping them switching to the fresh subspaces at any time. I've conveyed your concerns and wishes to them so they are aware of the situation "in the field". As always, there's also other things to consider when making these kind of decisions. In this case recycling is done in the hopes to get subspaces completely done because closing them out will ease the load on their aging keymaster server. And who knows, maybe the key we are looking for as The Answer is in one of these recycled subspaces and we'll only hit it now due to this recycling. In which case the project would be completely over and done. :) -w |
