Message 5378 - Posted: 27 Aug 2013, 10:30:14 UTC - in response to Message 5210.

I have now successful run it on HD7950 with 13.4 driver but against 5xxx/6xxx serie poor speed. It must have 30%-40% more speed increase. The client still needs some optimizations with 7xxx serie.

Get now working stream client.

Download

Download and copy files into project folder.

Thx for the infos below. Good luck!

Thanks for the link and info, got it running on 2 7770 cards. Wonder why Teemu isn't sending this app out automatically...

There is a mispell. I dont know how to get the stream client running. Must be faster than the current one. The client must be optimized very soon because HD9xxx coming soon.

While two 7770 cards are working, I can't seem to get a 7850 to work. It just sits in low power (300MHz) mode and goes very slowly. Tried setting up 2d and 3d profiles in Afterburner to force it to run at speed but no go. Works fine on all other projects though.

Now Iv'e gotten 2 out of 3 7790 GPUs running. The 3rd one refuses to run Moo but runs everything else perfectly. Completion time for the 7790 is about 70% of the 7770. Still no luck on the 7850 cards.

Have you tried BOINC Client 7.2.16? Iam running with Catalyst 13.9 too but only one card. Dont know if this helps.

Does anyone converted that app_info.xml into a cc_config.xml file?

I have tried drivers from 12.10 up to (now) 13.9 and nothing works. All the WU compute error after 26 seconds or so. The GPU never gets turned on...

System is an AMD 1100T or now a 1045T (testing) and HD 7970...

8-)

You need the app_info file. The official installed client doesnt work.

Thanks for the post. Just installed BOINC 7.2.23 and the Catalyst 13.9 drivers on that box and Moo still goes to 4% and stalls. Swapped a 7950 in and same thing, but the 7790 swapped into the other box now works on Moo. So it must be something in the software installs, but they should be the same. Also same MB and CPU, pretty much same hardware all around. All BOINC only boxes running the same projects. Moo is the only project that stalls. Any other ideas anyone?

Well the Files seems to let me run the Moo ATI GPU WU's on my 7970, that is until the system crash's because the GPU is running at over 100 degree's even with the fan running at 100%, so I still can't run them on the 7970. Maybe it's just that card, will try on another 7970 later tonight or tomorrow, taking the wife to a movie right now so don't have time to mess with it anymore now ...

Try this thread, it worked when the person in there did what it said:

I don't see anything in that Thread to help with the Heat Problem, I can run the GPU Wu's on my 7970 but the card gets so hot the whole system crashes once the Temps get over 100 degrees, having the fan on 100& doesn't keep it from getting to hot either ...

EDIT: I went out & dropped the Memory Voltage as low as it will go, the Core Voltage to 1000 & the Fan set on 80% & the GPU @ stock 925 setting.

I'm also only running 7 of the 8 Threads in HT Mode on the i7 3770K running at stock speed, so far the Card seems to be staying at about 65* with those settings with a run time of about 19 Min's ...

No, all I want is 250 Million, I've pretty much stopped running the GPU's, way to expensive for me to have to keep paying for running them out of my own pocket with no real return for my efforts. If I had a Business/Company or Collage computers to run like some where I can deduct some of the cost then I'd keep running them but I don't so my GPU Computing will be at a minimum like it has been & will be in the Future.

Ahhh I see...I have the same problem and have been thinking of 'mining' for bitcoins again. I did that a while back and since they were only worth about 10 bucks it cost me much more to make then what they were worth, a week or so ago they were up to 700 bucks apiece. Right now I am still crunching with them though and actually got 2 new 7970's for Christmas. I am stopping at 1 billion credits for each project, then moving on to another one, in fact I am close to finishing my 2nd one.

Has something changed with the Wu's ??? My 7970's were running the Wu's fine until a day or two ago but now they started taking forever to run the Wu's because they keep down clocking for what ever reason ???
