Tomorrow I have to bring my box to my local repairshop. Very nice ending of 2011. Suddenly it failed and is now impossible to start up again. Two small lamps or what it is, I am not really sure, lit up when I pressed power on. I´m completly lost. Life sucks!

Back from the shop with a new power supply. The old one was crappy.
Excellent service from my local retailer. Service and travelling in less than 1 ½ hour. Soon back in business.

Yes I will for sure. When I came home and changed the faulty power supply and mounted the new one, I was a little pissed off. I got a blue screen from windows and it didn´t stop so I could not see what went wrong. This was really strange. I changed some inside the CMOS to make the blue screen stay, but in vain. Just now I unplugged my second disk and POFF, suddenly I managed to start the OS. Happy of course, but still I don´t know what went wrong because my second disk has been there all the time. I took away the legacy connector and restarted the box. Now it works, but I am still lost. Can SATA connection be the answer to my worry. I will try this later on. Is anybody aware of how the stop works so I can read the blue screen? I now that you can press F8 and inactivate the restart, but that dosen´t work. Any comments appreciated.

Sometimes when you remove the power supply and you have bot han IDE and a Sata hard drive in the same machine it forgets which one is the C: drive and tries to boot off the wrong one. Unplugging the wrong drive will usually get you to the right one but a BIOS config change is what eventually fixes it, NOT an upgrade, just a simple retelling it which drive to boot from.

Well, Test performed and the system is up and running with the old disk attached without any problem.

You learn almost something every day which is nice. Once again thanks Mikey.
