I think the key could be whether your running Win 7 or not, my Win 7 Laptop & Client v7.0.2 will run the MOO CUDA Wu's but none of my Win XP Box's will run the Wu's with anything over Client v6.12.34 ...

Yeah. XP64 + 7.0.3 gets and runs MOO just fine. win7 64 + 7.0.3 will not run MOO. The task just sits there waiting.

lol ... just the opposite of what I'm seeing, XP64 & 7.x.x won't run the Wu's & Win 7 & 7.x.x will run the Wu's ...

Hah! I didn't read your post closely before. But yeah, we are seeing exactly opposite behavior.

Just as another data point, I now have two BOINC 7.0.3/W7x64 (one Professional/SP1 and one Home Premium/SP1) hosts successfully running Moo Wrapper applications.

My WIN7x64 Boinc7.0.3x64 will download gpu units, but not start them, the cpu units seem fine. I have tried 3 different ati drivers (now the beta) with no luck, other projects run fine.

If they never even get started, then it's BOINC Client bug. If they start and error out almost immediately, then it could be our wrapper/client problem.

Downgraded to 6.12.34, and the gpu units work, but the wrapper (distributed.net) crashes about 1 in 5 units. I assume those are the unvalidated units I have ran.
Now I can't run Albert @ home (needs 7.x)

I'm running the GPU Wu's at the Albert Project with the 6.12.34 Client but my Box's are Win XP OS's, could be only Win 7 needs the 7.xx Client ?

The versions above 11.9 of the AMD/ATI software are not optimized for crunching and can cause problems, it seems you are in fact above that. You might try downgrading and see if that helps.

To be clear, those were tasks that were downloaded under 6.12. They remained in the queue after upgrade to 7.0.3, but just sit there. BOINC will not crunch them

So the fix is clearly not working for everyone. How was the fix implemented?

So you need to fix this either by
- create new app_versions (e.g. version 1.03), or
- manually editing the XML field using mysql
I recommend the first option, less error-prone.

If #2 was implemented, perhaps #1 should be tried now?

It was indeed #2, manually fixing the XML, which is now correct on DB. You are still seeing the parse error in your client log? Have you tried to reset the project on the affected system?

The "downloaded in 6.12 but never crunched in 7 once upgraded" is most likely a BOINC Client problem.

I'm working on a new application version so once I deploy that, it will implement the #1 at the same time. This update is not specifically for this problem but for various improvements I should have done months ago.

I completely detached and reattached, and am still seeing the problem.
