Are you the cpu and gpu units the same or is one working on a different problem than the other one?

Thank you, both for the link and the welcome!! I have one question though....it says it too x number of 'days' to solve the problem, is that computer days or calendar days? Because I could bring half a dozen more gpu's over here and they could help bring that down a little bit if it is calendar days.

Calendar days, and life between success in finding the Key is usually Years, so the more beasties deployed crunching away the better :)

This page may help clear the background fog a little, scroll down a page when you get there - there's a plethora of facts and figures that will help position all this in the mind:

http://stats.distributed.net/projects.php?project_id=8

You need to place a valid email address in the relevant box in Moo Preferences - its about halfway down the preferences page in Moo!Wrapper's Account Preferences - in order for "the system" to create a DNet account [automatically, you do nothing], and have your crunching efforts here recorded at DNet. (Its the line "Distributed Net ID" that you put the email address against - if you dont have a DNetC account already from prior DNetC crunching, use "Mikey@moowrap.net" )

THANKS AGAIN!! I now understand and have set some more pc's to NNT at their current project, it will only take a day or so to bring them over as my cache is fairly small. And I do have a valid email on the page, it is mikey@something or other though, not moowrap.net.
Thanks!!
