You could always try to download the newer version at distributed.net and use it instead.
dnet is running version 5.21 which moowrap has not updated to yet.
Just download it and rename it to the same name as the moowrap version.
programdata/boinc/projects/moowrap.net and replace the .exe

However, don't you believe it would be nicer to have applications working properly on all GPU's (i.e. without app_info etc for 7950,7970, R9, ...)rather than badges ?

That's indeed "nicer", that's why the badges are the stock ones as they were easy to just enable. :) Even if changing badges and implementing new/different ones is not top priority, it's good to have recommendations/suggestions bouncing around.

At the moment I'm working on getting the wrapper refreshed so I can deploy the newer Dnet Clients that should fix various problems. Including getting an OpenCL app out that should work much better on newer cards. At least stability wise, if not necessarily performance.

So we really, really need to have the ability to specify our application preferences. The current Win 10 build with the new 16.3.1 drivers (well, any driver since launch) won't give me the OpenCL application to run. It just keeps throwing out Computation Errors all day (all week!) and keeps giving me only the Stream app.

I'd like to be able to use this rig as a gaming PC but newer games don't like me using the 14.11 drivers which used to somehow barely work with the Stream app before I nuked and started clean about a week ago. The inability to force OpenCL is killing me since I have to babysit the dnet client and can't use Moowrap.

On my older notebook I'm only using the Radeon HD 6370m for crunching. Having run both the ati14 & opencl_ati_101 apps. I found the ati14 to be better for the system. As the extra CPU usage of the OpenCL app causes it to run just enough warmer to get to hot. So I would prefer to only run the ati14 app.
Not seeing any project options for this I was thinking <exclude_gpu> in the cc_config.xml. However it seems both apps look the same to BOINC.

EDIT: The Average processing rate for the ati14 was higher until recently when it dropped suddenly & I started getting OpenCL tasks again.

<exclude_gpu> means to exclude it from a project, not an application, so yes an app_info.xml file is your only way.
