Hi,
I could't help myself; had to go with this new 11.6 set.
It had no gain for my HD6970 though.
On different projects I think the 11.6 build is less stabile.
I'll think it's time to roll back to the 11.4 preview I used before!

I found out that the HD4300 is good enough for GPU processing. I can see ATI4 prog running. So case closed for the time being. Thanks for all help.

Yes. I can see it in your result pages for your pc.
You're actually crunching with CPU AND GPU.
see here; http://moowrap.net/results.php?hostid=1593
In the last tab is the application.
Where it says "Distributed.net Client v1.02 (ati14)" its the GPU'.
"Distributed.net Client v1.02" is for CPU.
See the difference in timings!

, but I´m not sure if the GPU is used. How can I follow the process in an easy way?

I now realize what the real question is!

You can see that in your Windows Task Manager (ctrl, alt&del choose 'processes')
In that list you see something starting with 'dnetc_1.02'.
If you are using the GPU, there is '_ati14.exe' in that line!
If not, I guess you using CPU only...

Can you copy the first 30 lines from your BM-message tab?

What is the temperature of your CPU/GPU?
And how did you set Boinc preferences?
Always on?
Or suspend while active?

{edit}And BEFORE using GPU-Z, first pause Boinc to prevent freezes by the poor ATI drivers. When GPU-Z is up, you can resume Boinc.

Hi,
just to let you know there's a discussion right now about that problem.
Apparently, this is a known issue, still present in 6.12.26.

Stay tuned.

I will.

Thanks Clod.

Maybe it's only my box, but it looks like with this new version the Cpu-time is about 10 seconds more.
And I've not changed the used core lately!( it's still #0 )

P.S. Your spam filter is too strong. It thinks a link to this same web site is spam. I had to post without the link, and then edit the post to add the link, to work around it.

I'll second that motion......

if I'm not wrong, boinc send a signal (SIGINT) to quit.
To avoid any lost work, dnetc518-win32-x86-stream finishes properly by syncing all his threads, writing works to files, sending pending works to servers, etc.

With the GPU?

15) Message boards : News : Switched to granting static credit (Message 281)
Posted 12 May 2011 by aad
Post:
The problem before that change was:
some people with cheap GPUs were giving the same credits as the other ones with GPUs much more faster.
The CPU time should not be a factor for credits.
The faster you can complete the stats units, more credits you will get.

That change is not fair for people having lower GPUs, but it's fair for people with faster GPUs (5870, 5970, 6950, etc)

We'll see how it goes, but (like Teemu said) we already consider increasing more then 5 credits per stat units.

My HD6970 is fast and expensive (to me)but i'm punished too....
